New Tourist Hubs in Delhi

Recently, at the NRAI’s (National Restaurant Authority of India) 33rd Annual General Meeting, Shri Kapil Mishra, Minister of Tourism, Delhi Government has indicated that Food industry can act as a critical catalyst in boosting the growth of Tourism sector in India. Therefore, the ministry is eyeing at creating food hubs that can attract more tourists.

Dubai Tourism contributes more than what oil does for its GDP. Approx. 70 percent of NOMA visitors are foreigners. Hence, India, especially the national capital – Delhi too can walk the same trodden path. Needlessly, Travel Agents in Delhi NCR will get super-busy after these hubs are created.

These hubs will be nothing more than Food Hubs where a lot of restaurants will operate to satiate the taste buds. Every restaurant will showcase their extraordinary talent in culinary and beverage offerings to get more popular amongst the crowd, especially among the expats/ tourists. These hubs will somewhat be the clones of food-tourism hubs like Hauz Khas Village in South Delhi.

People travel far and wide to treat their eyes and soul and food is an obvious and critical catalyst for pulling crowd. There is a huge possibility that Travel Agencies in Delhi NCR will go mad with bookings poring in.

And, there is a forecast that roughly between 12 and 13 hubs are in the pipeline for being created. Now, you can imagine the probable influx of revenue generation.

Food-Tourism hubs look quite promising for the future of tourism sector. Let’s wait and watch how the plan A works.

Why Mumbai gathered more crowds in September month?

Well, the festive season has begun. Not just in Mumbai, you will get to see endless celebrations, and large number of travel deals, taking place in different parts of India.

But how did Mumbai take a toll, this September?

Mumbai Tour PackagesWell, it is all because Ganapati Bappa was right there with his dedicated followers. Ganesh Chaturthi is a public festival of Marathagan. It was started by Lokmanya Tilak, Nationalist Leader. Mumbaiyas, vest string faith and belief in Gannu Raja, hence, they celebrate this festival with great pomp and show.

A lot of Mumbaiyas settled in different parts of the world or India, try to get-together with their families during this festival just the way Bengalis, Oriyas, and Assamese do during Dussehera. It means huge to them, also to the Travel Agents in India.

Domestic tour packages for Mumbai, on this occasion, certainly soars.

The next tradition followed by Chaturthi is the Visarjan, which is again a huge crowd-puller. Crowd expects to see some celebrity during this festival. This one is lucrative as well.

Nonetheless, famous chowpati, pao-bhaji, modak laddoos and street shops come as secondary attraction.

The month of Ganapati has ended though, the spirit of acquiring knowledge and making a start still prevails not just in Mumbai but also in the other parts of India.

11 Secret Beaches in Goa

Goa has a very long coastline with almost unbroken sand cover. So, if you’ve come looking for sun, sand and sea without the crowds and the fuss you’ll be pleased to discover these beaches tucked away in quiet recesses where you can go to truly escape the world, or at least get away from prying eyes and annoying hawkers. Here is our list of secluded beaches to try during your Goa holiday. You might have to take your own food and water as there are no eateries or accommodation near some of them. And though some of them may seem out of their way, you’ll be glad for the peace and quiet when you get there.

1. Butterfly Beach
This exquisite gem not only has a pretty name but is a relatively unexplored stretch of sand because of its isolation. It’s located on Butterfly Island and is a great place if you’re looking for total privacy. The only way to reach Butterfly Island’s beautiful beach is by boat from Agonda or Palolem beach.

2. Kakolem Beach
If you’re really up for an adventure try getting to this little-known beach, also known as Tiger beach. Located in a bay, its breathtaking beauty makes up for almost getting lost on the way there. The sands are clean and deserted. The only way by land is to take the NH66 highway towards Cola village. Turn north-east and drive on a broken old road which will lead you to a small platform. Take the narrow steep winding stone stairs leading down to the beach. A much easier way to get there is by renting a boat to transport you there and back.

 3. Galjibag Beach
Just like the increasingly popular Morjim beach, Galjibag is also a seasonal nesting and hatching site for the endangered Olive Ridley turtle. But unlike Morjim, this beach is deserted except for a handful of shacks that sell cheap, delicious seafood. Galjibag is 18kms from Canacona, south of Talpona river estuary.

4. Hollant Beach
This serene beach has a lovely bay with a long stretch of shallow water running into the sea that is perfect for non-swimmers and waders. The beach is rocky but the picturesque bay makes up for it. You’ll even see fishermen’s boats lining the narrow, curving shore to create a quaint picture.

5. Betul Beach
The wide expanse of this compact sandy beach can be found about 18kms from Margao. The scenery will remind you of traditional coastal fishing villages. It even has a small lagoon and a 17th century fort nearby. Get to Mobor beach by land and then take the Cavelossim-Assolna ferry across the River Sal to the beach.

 6. Arambol Beach
This beautiful place in Pernem is another quiet beach where you can have lively Barbeque evenings with friends and family, if you’re so inclined, while enjoying the views of the cliffs bordering the beach on both sides. The area is slowly gaining in popularity, attracting a more bohemian crowd to its shorelines. Cafes and restaurants have popped up close to the beach so you’ll be able to enjoy a chilled beer after a swim.

7. Agonda Beach
This is a fabulous place for a beach picnic under a beach umbrella. The rocky crag on the southern tip of the beach against an azure sky lends a bit of drama to the serene landscape. Go looking for the bats nesting in trees that line the shore. You can’t miss their black capes and orange-brown faces. It’s located about 37kms from Margao.

Agonda Beach

8. Cola Beach
Even locals, who don’t live nearby, have never heard of this beach before. To get to this hidden treasure travel south to Canacona and then look around for the signs that will lead you to an immaculately spotless beach pictured against a flawless backdrop of coconut groves and blue skies. It’s only five minutes away from Agonda beach and has a unique lagoon surrounded by beach huts where you can stay overnight.

Cola Beach

9. Velsao Beach
Just north of the popular Majorda and Colva beaches in the southern part of Goa is this stunning beach with soft, silvery sand and nothing but a lifeguard and some birds to keep you company. You’ll spot a few swimmers here but like you they’re there to escape the crowds of more popular beaches nearby.

Velsao Beach

10. Sinquerim Beach
This is a pristine stretch of alluring white sand close to Fort Aguada. It’s relatively quiet despite the luxury resorts in the background. It’s a great spot to sit in peace while enjoying the colours of the setting sun light up the sky over the Arabian sea.

Sinquerim Beach

11. Siridao Beach
About 12kms south of Panjim near the Zuari river estuary is this beach with scattered blocks of rock in between smooth strips of sand giving the beachscape an unusually rugged appearance. Another unique quality about this beach is the fragments of oyster shells that wash up on the shore and brighten up the beach. The Chapel of Jesus of Nazareth is the nearest landmark. Siridao also has a few caves nearby that you can explore.

India ranks 52nd on global travel and tourism list

Of approx. 140 countries, India has ranked 52nd in the World Economic Forum’s recent list of travel and tourism. This is yet another morale booster for the T&T industry.

The list states that Spain has topped the charts, followed by France, German, the USA, Britain, Switzerland, Australia, Italy, Japan, and Canada in the top 10 rankers. India’s competitiveness in travel industry looks stronger than ever, now as it has managed to climb up 13 places to reach this rank.

India’s economic growth is catching up speed as it is gradually growing as a top business travel destination. This is a sign of good scope for the current and coming financial years.

Hey Travel Agents in Delhi NCR, you better keep an energy drink handy, as a lot of business prospects are coming your way!

Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI) 2013 had reserved 65th rank for India. This year’s report features ranking across 141 countries in 14 dimensions. The report also states that India needs to improve health, hygiene, information, communication and technological aspects of the travel industry, in order to establish a higher rank for itself.

Tour operators in Delhi NCR must start paying attention to the kind of vendors for transport, food, accommodation, etc. they tie-up with for their travel packages. They must ensure that hygiene is well-maintained to have enhanced health value. Additionally, facilities of urgent health care or first aid should also be arranged.

Security is another concern. Hence, the tour operators must make sure that their agencies offer secured and safe options to the clients. God forbid, yet if anything goes wrong, then along with the agency’s India’s reputation and the market scenario would be at stake.

Current India’s travel and tourism sector accounts for 5 percent of India’s employment. The potential of employability and business growth is huge, considering India’s 7 million international visitors in relation with China’s 55 million. Probably, a microscopic focus on domestic tour packages in India for the offbeat cities would add to huge value additions, in addition to other strategies that can be implemented for expanding the potential of this sector.

India’s travel and tourism industry is likely climb clouds nine or maybe higher. Let’s watch how the industry resolves all the bottlenecks to reach that high and keep our fingers crossed.
